CHILDREN’S ZOO SUPERVISOR
Dallas Zoo Management, Inc. is seeking a Children’s Zoo Supervisor for the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo. The Children’s Zoo Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the LFCZ staff and animal collection. Other duties include: Responsible for communicating and coordinating with the Interpretive Supervisor to develop and implement interpretive programs within the LFCZ. Responsible for overseeing the care and management of a large collection of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish and invertebrates. Responsible for animal enrichment and training programs. Responsible for planning, designing, coordinating and implementing construction and improvement projects approved by the LFCZ Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Natural Science, Education or related field preferred.
At least one year of management experience in animal care preferred.
At least three years of animal care experience in a zoo setting required.
Experience working with young people preferred.
Experience caring for domestic and/or exotic animals preferred.
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Must be able to work holidays and weekends.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and follow up on requests required.
Must be able to walk, stand, sit, kneel, stoop, crawl, twist, reach above head, pull bend, climb stairs and ladders and carry up to 50lbs.
Must be able to actively work in inclement weather.
