The Dallas Zoo ushers in spring with the third annual Dallas Roars! festival, presented by Kimberly-Clark Corporation. This exciting community event celebrates spring and offers four full weekends of fun on April 19 and 20, April 26 and 27, May 3 and 4, and May 10 and 11. Dallas Roars! activities will take place on Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m.
The Dallas Roars! festival will be filled with children’s activities and entertainment as well as the opening of exciting new exhibits, including the walk-through Butterflies exhibit presented by Kimberly-Clark Corporation; a special display of 30 endangered frogs and other amphibians in honor of the Year of the Frog entitled Amphibians: Life Under the Leaf; as well as the popular Stingray Bay, presented by Citi, and the SpongeBob SquarePants™ 4-D motion adventure ride. Special celebrations include a Party for the Planet for Earth Day, a Día del Nino/Cinco de Mayo celebration, and activities for Mother’s Day.
“Kimberly-Clark feels strongly about its commitment to the Dallas Zoo,” said Carolyn Mentesana, vice president of the Kimberly-Clark Foundation, which also sponsors the Kimberly-Clark Chimpanzee Forest. “Dallas Roars! is a wonderful opportunity to create a fun celebration for individuals and families while supporting wildlife and conservation.”
“This is a great time to come out to the Zoo and see all the changes that have taken place this spring,” said Gregg Hudson, executive director of the Dallas Zoo and The Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park. “We have two new interactive exhibits with the addition of Stingray Bay and Butterflies and a terrific new playscape in the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo. Come to the reptile building for Amphibians: Life Under the Leaf to see many species that you can no longer find in the wild. And Party for the Planet will help visitors recognize ways in which we can help conserve our natural resources for the future.”
