Calling all Homeschoolers and Parents!
Join us for Homeschool Day at the Dallas Zoo, where learning meets adventure, and discover how to bring a touch of the wild into your homeschool classroom with fun activities designed for kids of all ages as we work together to Create a Better World for Animals.
Pricing
- $10 non-members | FREE for members
- Children 2 and under are free
- Pre-registration is required. Registration fee includes discounted admission to the Zoo (for non-members) but does not include parking.
Schedule:
- Event time: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
- We recommend arriving as early as 9 a.m., and stay at the Zoo as long as you’d like!
Activities:
Stop by our Homeschool Day Welcome Station at the park entrance to pick up your activity notebook. Then, visit our 20+ Learning Stations to learn about conservation efforts and ways you can take action. You’ll participate in hands-on activities and earn stamps along the way:

- At the Zoo & at-home conservation project
- Keeper Chats
- Career Chats for middle and high school students
- Experiential learning activities for students in elementary, middle, and high school
- 20 exciting partner activities

Plan your day:
- Wild Encounters* – Head to the Wild Encounters Stage Presented by Kimberly-Clark Corporation to get up close with a variety of animals. 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, 2:30
* Wild Encounters schedule is subject to change depending on animal comfort level and the weather. - Keeper Chats – Learn more about your favorite Dallas Zoo animals from the zoologists who care for them! Keeper Chats are held outside of the corresponding animal habitat area. View schedules here.
- Career Chats – Middle schoolers and high schoolers can take advantage of our Career Chats taking place 15 minutes before each Keeper Chat. Our zoologists will share their journey to the Zoo.
- Zoo Crew and Camps – Explore volunteer opportunities at the Zoo for students ages 13-17 and camp opportunities for K-6th graders.
- Educational Programming – Learn about our year-round education programming for children ages X months to age 12 and see if we can be a part of your homeschool journey this year.
- Citizen Science Project – Hunt down our Monarch Tagging Interpreters in the park and learn how you can participate in Monarch Watch this fall. You might even get to tag a monarch in the park.
