Join the Dallas Zoo and Sea Turtle, Inc. on South Padre Island, TX, for a unique hands-on program dedicated to protecting sea turtles and their habitats. Saving Sea Turtles is designed for families to work together — each playing an important role — in supporting conservation efforts that make a real difference for these incredible animals. Requirements:

• Best for ages 7 years and up
• At least one adult (18+) for every two children (7-17) in your party is required
• Register by Sunday, June 8, 2025

Your registration fee supports the Dallas Zoo conservation fund and includes:

• Evening welcome social with lite bites on Day 1 
• Lunch and snacks on Day 2 
• Kids Camp for children ages 7-14 
• All supplies necessary for service projects and Kids Camp 
• Trip t-shirt 

Lodging:

• For your convenience, a block of rooms has been reserved at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites South Padre Island Details on how to reserve a room will be sent 24 hours after registration. 
• Please note, transportation and lodging is not included in your registration fee.

Day 1: Welcome to South Padre Island!

This vibrant beach town on the coast of Texas is home to a variety of wildlife including migratory birds, dolphins, and, of course, sea turtles!

Today’s highlights:

• Arrive at South Padre Island and relax on the beach 
• Join us for an after-hours welcome social at Sea Turtle, Inc. Enjoy lite bites while mingling with your fellow conservationists. The welcome social will start around 6 p.m. (time subject to change). 

Day 2: Save Sea Turtles

Get ready to dive into a full day of conservation activities with Sea Turtle, Inc.!

Today’s highlights:

• Adults and Teens (Ages 15+)
  Spend the day diving into exciting service projects like helping maintain the rehabilitation facility, organizing supplies, or lending a hand with vehicle upkeep!
• Kids (Ages 7–14)
  While adults work on projects, kids will participate in our Saving Sea Turtles Kids Camp! This fun, educational program includes games, crafts, and lessons about sea turtles and marine ecosystems, as well as an age-appropriate service project — all designed to inspire the next generation of conservationists.

  This program takes place in the same space, ensuring families share the experience while contributing to a common goal of protecting sea turtles.
